Section 303 - Building Movers, License and Permits
Section 303:00. License Required. It shall be unlawful for any person to move or cause to be moved any building or structure over and upon any street, alley, or public ground in this municipality without having previously obtained a license from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Section 303:05. Permit Required. It shall be unlawful for any person to move or cause to be moved any building or structure over or upon any street, alley or public ground in this municipality without having previously obtained a permit for each such move and a conditional use permit pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 827 (Zoning Ordinance) Section V: K.
Section 303:10. Application. Before commencing any moving, the person in charge of such work shall make an application in writing to the Building Official for a permit to use and occupy the streets and alleys or other public grounds for such work, and shall in such application state the route to be taken, the time when such work is to be commenced, and also that he, by such work, will not do any damage to such streets, public grounds or other property and present a currently valid State of Minnesota Building Mover's License.
Section 303:15. Notice to Utilities. Prior to the granting of such permit, the applicant shall obtain written approval for such move from (1) any telephone, telegraph or electric company, or any other person or corporation having wires strung over or across such streets, and (2) the City Engineer and (3) the Chief of Police and (4) the Chief of the Fire Department, and shall provide such approvals to the Building Official as a part of such application.
Section 303:20. Permit Issuance and Fee. Upon receiving such application and approvals, and upon the payment of the required permit fee in the amount duly established by the Council from time to time, the Building Official, if he shall deem the same reasonable, shall grant a permit to use the streets or public grounds designated in the application for the purpose therein stated.
