Winter Weekend Out - Friday, Febraury 5 - Sunday, Febraury 7:  We are organizing our 1st Annual Weekend Out.  Take a look at the fun-filled weekend we have planned!

Friday, February 5 (K-6 No School Day!):

Sledding and Movie at West Hills - Grab your sleds and join us for a fun-filled afternoon!  Sledding on the hill will begin at 1:00, we'll warm up in SeniorPlace around 2:00 with games and crafts, and then around 3:00 we'll watch a family-friendly movie.  Enjoy FREE hot chocolate during the movie, other concessions will be available for purchase.  Kids 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  FREE Activity!

Saturday, February 6:

Youth & Adult Boot Hockey Tournament - Tournament will be held at Morehouse Park outdoor rinks.  Both youth (15 & younger) and adult tournaments (16 & over) will be double elimination, 5 vs 5.  Prizes will be awarded to the 1st - 3rd place teams!  Check back for the registration form. 

Bonfire & Ice Skating, 5:30pm - Bring the whole family down to the Morehouse Chalet for a bonfire and skating.  Ice skate rentals are available.  Look for more information to come on this activity.

Sunday, February 7:

Family Ice Fishing at Lake Kohlmier - Some equipment and bait will be provided and holes will be drilled.  Come and learn a few new techniques at the educational stations, visit all stations and earn a prize!  Prizes will also be awarded to kids (age 15 & under) who catch the biggest fish!  FREE Activity. 

City Deer Hunt

The City of Owatonna will be holding a deer hunt in wooded areas of city parks this fall to help control the deer popluation. All hunters have passed a proficiency test using the same equipment with which they will be hunting.  Two sets of fifteen permits have been randomly awarded and hunters are currently being contacted to choose their location and their season preference.  When the hunt begins, a map locating hunters locations will be available on the City website. 

Brooktree Golf Course

Closed for the season.  Purchase your 2016 membership at the 2015 price on Black Friday, November 27, 6:00am - Noon.

Youth Registration

We are currently taking registrations for the following:

  • Kindergarten Basketball - Tikes ($10 late fee applies)
  • 1st & 2nd Grade Basketball - Squirts ($10 late fee applies)

Registration begins December 1 for the following:

  • Swimming Lessons
  • Future Sports Stars Camp

Park Pavilion Rentals

Pavilion Rentals are available one year in advance.  Call the Parks and Recreation office at 444-4321 or stop by our office to make a reservation. Payment is due at the time of the reservation.
