Golfing Monday's (April - October)

MONDAY is SENIOR DAY at Havana Hills Par 3 Golf Course. Come when you can, play the game, sign the book and leave your score card!

This is a great time spent with friends and playing on a wonderful course! Any questions, call Willie Peterson at 507-213-4507 (cell).
 

Pickleball

It is played indoors at the Armory through April 15 starting at 8:30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday except for April 5 which will be played on Thursday the 4th. SRP membership $2 per day and non-SRP member $3 per day. Weather permitting we will be playing outdoors at Manthey Park. May 2 we will be having a Taco bar fundraiser at the Elks 5-7pm for 4 new outdoor pickleball courts.

Balloon Volleyball

Come get your exercise sitting on a chair stretching, using your reflexes and of course your laughter!

 

Chair Aerobics

Monday & Thursday 10:30am-11:15am     3rd Floor Lobby

$10 per month or $1.25 per class. 1st visit is Free!

Enjoy a real aerobic workout, without getting out of your chair! This fun program consists of warm-ups, exercises, cool-downs and stretches.

As a member of SeniorPlace, you can utilize the Fitness Center for 25% reduction from normal rates. Stop by SeniorPlace for the flyer or stop at the Tennis & Fitness Center for more information.

 

Bowling

Located at Spare Time Entertainment

League is on Mondays at 9:00 am and cost is $9.00   Individuals is on Fridays at 9:00 am and cost is $10.00 includes three games of bowling, coffee and rolls.  This program sponsored by Hy-Vee, SeniorPlace, and Spare Time.

 

Silver Streaks- Softball      (April-September)

If you are a softball player over age 50 and a member of SeniorPlace, think about joining us. The rules are a bit different to avoid injuries. Tuesday Mornings 9am at Diamond 2.
Call Bill Steinbronn (451-4055) or Bill Traetow (413-0888) for more information. Two Rules: No practice is there's standing water or under 55 degrees.

Zumba Gold

Was designed for the active, older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or people who may be limited physically. Instructor Char Roetman

Table Tennis

Any age can play the game, so don't be afraid. Players of all abilities are welcome. Darryl Hill will give useful tips and instructions. Wear comfortable clothing.

Evenings in June: 4, 6, 11, 13 at 5:30-7:30pm.
 

Weight Training for Seniors

Dates/Times: Mon, Wed,  Fri    8:30 am- 9:30 am  or  3:15 pm- 4:15 pm  3rd Floor

$25 per month. 
A Therapist leads the group in a program of warm-up exercises, weight lifting exercises with hand-held weights, cool down exercises and stretching. We provide each participant with an individual assessment and program tailored to their fitness level and needs before they start with the group. We ask for a commitment of 3 times per week for 3 months to start the program.

TAI CHI

Wednesdays & Fridays @ 9:30am Multi Purpose Room, 1st Floor

Instructor: Nelson Chou

Cost: $1.00/class

The dictionary states: Tai Chi is a noin: a Chinese martial art and form of stylized, meditative excercise, characterized by methodically slow circular and stretching movements and positions of bodily balance.  The Medical Dictionary states: an ancient Chinese discipline involving a continuous series of controlled usually slow movements designed to improve physical and mential well-being.

 

Dancing @ the Elks

The 1st Tuesday of the month, we're DANCING at the Elks from 1:00-4:30pm.  Thanks to the Owatonna Elks Club!

Massages

~Affordable Stress & Pain Relief for Senior Place members~
Senior Place members may schedule services with certified massage therapist Elizabeth (aka Betsy) Wright on Wednesdays and (occasionally) Fridays.

Elizabeth received certification from Sister Rosalind's School of Professional Massage, Mankato  Campus, in 2003. In addition to 650 hours of foundation studies at Sister Rosalind's, Elizabeth has attended numerous continuting education workshops.

Contact Senior Place 507-444-4280 to make an appointment. When you arrive at Senior Place for you massage, please check in at the front desk. Plan to pay Elizabeth at the time of your service by personal check or cash: $40 per hour plus sales tax: $42.74. No extra charge to enjoy hot stones.

Never had a massage? Not sure? Try a "MINI" session: $20 for 20 minutes plus tax ($21.37).

 

Pilates with Susan Bernhart

Pilaties is a proven gentle total body workout which strengthens deep back muscles, abdominals, upper and lower body as well as improving flexibility. This is a very beginner class. Exercises are balanced with stretches throughout. Pilates leaves you refreshed and relaxed. Clean mats will be provided for use or bring your own.
