OYFSA & PARKS AND RECREATION SOFTBALL
OYFSA & PARKS AND RECREATION SOFTBALL
In efforts to provide the most efficient and cost-effective softball program for Owatonna's Youth, Owatonna Youth Fastpitch Association and Parks and Recreation are merging their summer youth softball programs.
T-Ball and Squirt programs continue to be "Parks and Recreation" programs. Beginning with 2nd grade, however, the merger provides distinct levels for our youth softball players. Lightening League Level 1 (Grades 2 and 3), Ligthening League Level 2 (Grades 4, 5, and 6), and U10 Traveling. Parks and Recreation continues to handle the administration portion of the program: purchasing equipment, registration, scheduling, field maintenance and communication. OYFSA provides the programming: pre-season, evaluations, team selection, league supervision, coaching, recruitment and instructions, skills clinics and overall softball quality assurance. This merger reduces individual participation fees while maximizing human and financial resources. Checks for all softball programs should be made to OYFSA.
