The next level up from T-League baseball, geared for boys and girls who have completed 1st year of T-ball through 2nd grade. 2nd grade participants may choose Little League 1 – Mite Softball or this program. Volunteer coaches who pitch underhand to them coach the youth. The program will primarily be played on Tuesday nights at 5:30, 6:30, & 7:30 PM. The primary sites will be Jaycee, Brown and Manthey Park or McKinley Field, but due to field availability, fields may change. Each participant receives a sponsor T-Shirt.
Dates: The program will begin June 11, 2013 through 2nd week in August. There will be no clinic for participants and the coaches will call their teams for practice times. Schedules will be handed out at your first practice by the coaches.
Cost: Early Bird fee on February 25 through May 9, is $37.40 (Includes Tax) After May 9, the fee is $47.40.
Coaches Meeting for T-Ball and Squirts: Monday June 3, 2013 at 5:30pm
Location: West Hills City Administraiton Building-(use stairway on south side of building to meeting room.) This is a coaches meeting as well as equipment and schedule pick up. It is a mandatory meeting! All Park and Recreation Coaches are required to complete a background check form each calendar year. Coaches will call the players after the coaches meetings. Coaches will hand out schedules to the players at the first practice.
Volunteer coaches needed!
The Park and Recreation Department utilizes volunteer coaches for many of the youth programs the department offers. Volunteer coahces are a key ingredient in the offering of these youth programs. This includes training in psychology and philosophy of youth sports, first aid, and teaching skill techniques for the various activities. Please call the Park and Recreation office if interested at 507-444-4321. All volunteer coaches must fill out a background on a yearly basis.
