Cops in the Community

As a department, we realize we cannot address crime problems in this community alone.  We have a duty and responsibility to involve members of the community in matters that impact the quality of their lives.  We constantly work to renew and develop new community bonds to ensure that the people most impacted by crime have a voice in identifying and resolving problems in their neighborhoods.

Citizen's Academy

Citizen's Academy is held in the fall of each year.  At the Citizen's Police Academy, you will have the opportunity to see and hear first hand the overwhelming curriculum officers must master before they can wear the uniform of the Owatonna Police Department.

Shop With A Cop

Each year, the Salvation Army and local law enforcement agencies work together to provide a day to Shop With A Cop.  Owatonna Police Department officers are proud to volunteer their time for this worthwhile cause.
